Pastor Peterson
Pastor Peterson has been the pastor at St. Peter's since May of 2016. Prior to accepting the call to serve St. Peter's, he was at St. John's in Burt, IA for just under 10 years, which included 8 seasons as an auto racing chaplain at local dirt tracks and 4 years also teaching World Religions as an adjunct professor at Iowa Central. He and his wife Sarah live just outside of Rockford with their 6 children, and have been married since 2005. Pastor graduated with a degree in Biblical Languages from Concordia University in Ann Arbor before attending and graduating from Seminary at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN. He presently serves as Circuit Visitor of the Grand Rapids North/Central Circuit and continues receiving advanced training through Doxology: The Lutheran Center for Spiritual Care and Counsel. He enjoys watching and following Detroit sports, working on cars and small engines, bowling, music, and cooking/grilling.
